Emotions:

Their Impact On Total Health

Emotions are traditionally thought of as being normal functions of human beings.  Virtually every thought is laced with an emotion before it is stored in memory.

Emotions are the words we use to describe the feelings we experience.

Occasionally emotions, especially in association with a traumatic event  can cause a physiopathological-related pattern in the body which does not resolve of itself.

In other words it messes up our brains ability normally function and the body cannot resolve the issue.  This is why many people appear stuck in their emotional or professional lives for no apparent reason. This stuck emotions is called "fixation of emotion".

I was recently listening to the taping of a talk show program. The topic of the program was the emotional distress faced by parents of teenage drug users; the parents are often the last to know.

During the program a concerned parent asked the psychologist about warning signs and how to see events unfold so appropriate measures could be taken before it was too late.  What caught my attention was the feeling of grief the parents had.  Parents of drug-addicted teens may live for years, perhaps their whole lives feeling blame.  They may believe it was the result of their own inadequate parenting that caused their teenager to become drug addicted.  It is often worse if the teen died of an overdose.

It often takes years, if not a lifetime, before such parents finally feel healthy, emotionally, mentally and are free of grief.

How often a simple interaction from an acquaintance can set off a cascade of guilt-laden emotions.

Picture this scenario:  At the function, a man was approached by a guest and in the ensuing conversation was asked, “do you have any children?”  This simple question may set off a flashback for the parent. This parent who had been doing well suddenly found himself falling back into depression.

Is there not a way that parents, or anyone, like our armed services personnel, men and women in uniform who have been traumatized in their lives through a course of duty, can break this cycle of emotional responses?

These fixations of emotions are stored in the body until such time when they are released.  It is believed that if too much trauma occurs, the storage area fills to capacity. Certain ailments have a higher predisposition of occurrence, such as a bladder infection in an individual who is very fearful for a long time.

What is the Neuro Emotional Technique (NET)?

The Neuro Emotional Technique is a methodology used to normalize unresolved physical and/or behavioral patterns in the body. NET practitioners are trained to assist the body's healing process by identifying and balancing unresolved emotional influences—it's a mind-body approach. NET practitioners call these stuck emotions Neuro Emotional Complexes (NECs).

NET is used to help re-establish balance in the body in the form of a physical correction. NET makes use of the neuro-mechanisms of speech, general semantics, emotions, acupuncture and chiropractic principles, laws of the meridian system, cutaneous reflex points, principles of traditional psychology, and more.

NET seeks to normalize this pattern by physiological change; a result of a physical intervention.

NET effectively addresses "fixations of emotions" held within the body which can be vulnerable to retriggering under specific conditions relating to the original formation of the NEC. The end-product is a more neurologically integrated and healthier person. Patients report that this quick and easy process is pleasant and often life changing.

A Dynamic Homeostasis is the goal

NET is directed at achieving homeostasis of the human organism. As part of its diagnostic methodology, it requests of the patient, at times, a neuro-emotional case history to assist in uncovering the presence of an NEC. Once discovered, a correction is made and the treatment cycle is ended. Any case history which reveals a need for psychotherapy is discussed with the patient and an appropriate referral is made.

NET and Psychology

NET is not a "talk-it-out" therapy. It is a mind-body technique that addresses a physiological dysfunction. Before the discovery of neuropeptides (now known to carry emotion throughout the body), emotions were considered to be largely in the domain of psychology. Now emotions are also considered within the domain of acupuncturists, chiropractors, medical doctors and other vitalistic practitioners of the healing arts.

NET is not psychotherapy. NET is used by psychotherapists and health care practitioners of all disciplines in tandem with their other techniques to quickly enhance their patients' results.

What can NET treat?

NET Practitioners are almost unlimited in their ability to address physical conditions of all kinds. Examples of conditions that NET practitioners have helped include headaches and body pains of all types, organ dysfunctions, acute and chronic conditions of all types including allergies and much, much more. It is important to note that NET does not cure or heal the patient. Rather, NET removes blocks to the natural vitalism of the body, ALLOWING the body to repair itself
